Scholarship Description
The Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC) in Italy, as part of its mission to foster relationships with developing countries, developed a special program - the Africa Scholars Program - for students, both citizens and residents, from the African continent.
The UCSC Africa Scholarships program will enable students to study selected masters degree programs taught in English at UCSC’s Milan, Piacenza and Cremona Campuses. Cattolica offers scholarship opportunities for 1-year English-taught Specializing Masters as well.
UCSC Italy is pleased to offer these partial African scholarships in the fields of study listed below for the 2018/2019 academic year for eligible students from Africa.
Eligibility
Students, either citizens or residents, of all African countries may apply for these scholarships that are applicable only for the degree programs taught in English (as listed below).
PROGRAM INFORMATION & ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Admission requirements for all Master Degree programs include:
- Completion of a Bachelor Degree from a recognized university (2nd class upper division / 2.1 degree or higher)
- Proof of proficiency in English

Fields of Study
The Cattolica Africa Scholarship program consists of seven 2-year MSc programs (Laurea Magistrale), all taught in English and commencing in September 2017. These programs are preparing for an academic and/or professional career. Graduates of MSc programs are also eligible to enter PhD programs at Italian universities.

- MSc in Economics - Laurea Magistrale in Economia (Milan Campus)
- MSc in Management (Milan Campus)
- MSc in Methods and Topics in Arts Management - Laurea Magistrale in Economia e Gestione dei Beni Culturali e dello Spettacolo (Milan Campus)
- MSc in Statistical and actuarial sciences (Milan Campus)
- MSc in Agriculture and Food Economics (Cremona Campus)
- MSc in Healthcare Management - Laurea Magistrale in Management dei Servizi (Roma Campus)
- MSc in Methods and Topics in Arts Management - Laurea Magistrale in Economia e Gestione dei Beni Culturali e dello Spettacolo (Milan Campus)
Up to 47 scholarships are being offered for the 2017/2018 academic session. (In the past, however, 52 scholarships - 12 full tuition and 39 partial tuition - have been awarded)
Sponsorship Duration
The scholarship will cover the whole period of 2-years. This scholarship is automatically extended from year to year for the normal duration of the degree program.
Scholarship Benefits
Through the Cattolica Africa Program all accepted applicants will be offered tuition fee reductions. However, students will still be responsible for their own living expenses, hence the Cattolica Africa Program is NOT a program through which full scholarships can be obtained.
Living costs in Piacenza and Cremona are approximately €200 per month lower than in Milan. (P.S: See official website for complete breakdown of scholarship values.)
Method of Application
This application procedure applies to candidates studying/who completed their studies at a non-Italian university. Download the application guidelines and read them carefully. Select the degree program of your choice (you may select up to two programs. Your application will be considered for your first choice only. In case of your application being unsuccessful, will we automatically consider you for the second choice). Create your account, fill out the online form and upload the required documents (listed in the guidelines). Pay the application fee (75€, non-refundable) and submit your application.

DEADLINES:
There are 5 application rounds - 4 rounds for both EU and Non-EU students, while the last rounds for EU citizens and residents only.
Online application period for 1st Round is December 1, 2017 - February 1, 2018; for 2nd Round is February 2 - March 15, 2018; for 3rd Round is March 16 - April 15, 2018; and for the 4th Round is April 16 - May 10, 2018 (May 15 for non-EU residing abroad)
PLEASE NOTE:
Due to the restrictive and lengthy nature of the student pre-registration process required by the Italian Consulates and Embassies in various countries, Università Cattolica strongly advise non-EU students residing abroad to apply by April 15.
